Thank You with a Cherry on Top!

Cindy: I know that I am supposed to be focusing on what I am thankful for this week, but a new book delivery has diverted my attention. A package on my porch revealed an interior gift box with a paper bow. I’m used to special packaging for books that publishers are excited to promote, but when I opened this one I found an ice cream scoop included with a copy of A Snicker of Magic (Scholastic, Feb. 2014)! About the only think I like more than ice cream is books! In addition to ice cream and magic the book features a young “word collector.” What’s not to like? So as I am sitting at the turkey and dressing-laden table on Thursday, I’ll be giving thanks for packages that deliver enticing books with a cherry on top! If this is as good as it looks, watch for a blog post about it soon.photo 1

Lynn:  Who could resist the enclosed group of magnets with words like Kalamazoo, Whimsy, and Pumpernickel?   So really- this is just a fun way to segue into saying thank you to all the generous publishers who send us books to review and our wonderful readers who check in here to hear about them.  We are so grateful to all of you!

We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Enjoy your friends and family and, like us, count your blessings.
