Free library downloads on Kindle Fire?

Ebooks & audiobooks via the OverDrive app are awesome. Here’s how to set up your shiny new Kindle Fire with the OverDrive Media Console app, allowing easy wifi download of free public library materials.  Once you download the app, tap the small menu button at the bottom-center of the Fire’s touch screen, tap “Get Books,” then tap the “Add Library” and search by zip code. Tip: you must have both your library card number & PIN (often the last four digits of your phone number) PLUS a free Adobe account ID & password. It’s easiest to set up your Adobe account first, perhaps on the computer, on the Adobe website http://adobe.com (click sign in to set up new account).

When selecting public library materials, you must choose ONLY MP3 audiobooks or EPUB eBooks for the Kindle Fire – use the “Advance Search” function to search for onle items with copies available in those formats. Those of you with shiny new Kindle 3G device have things a bit easier – here’s a link for your tutorial. Need to know how to set up your Nook Simple Touch, Color or Tablet?
